A guide for a trek to Goecha La
Hi everyone,
we're arriving to Sikkim in early October and, among other things, we plan to go from Yuksom to the Goecha La pass (suppose this is like the most well know-trek there anyway). I was wondering - is it REALLY neccessary to have a guide arranged ? Or is it enough just to have a permit ? Me and my friends are used to travelling by ourselves and we'd be very happy if we could go on with that - without a guide. Thanks for your tips. |

Cheers, vko. I've read through most of the threads already but I still don't find it quite clear about the neccessity of a guide. We really do prefer to travel unaccompanied so I was wondering whether that is an option - legal or semi-legal ;-)
