I just read your post now Rachel. I am really sorry. You have gone through such a terrifying situation and thank God you escaped a fate, better left unimagined. I hope this has not put you off India forever. Regrettably, the state of Bihar is often in the news for all the wrong reasons, and I can well imagine that there must be so many more instances like yours which have never been reported. I wish you all the best and pray that you never go through anything like this again.

It sounds like you may have been administered ketamine - initial disorientation and coordination problems (especially with the legs) - after an hour sleepiness. The drug is an anaesthetic.

In the last couple of years there has been a surge in the number of NDPS Act cases in Mumbai involving ketamine hydrochloride - the date rape drug.

I've noticed, in the last year or so, an increasing number of reports of customs officers intercepting attempts to smuggle this stuff into Chennai. Either they've just noticed, or its illicit use is increasing!

it could have been datura, which grows all over the sub cont. and can pack a lethal punch with atropine being one of the active agents in it.
