With the theme of would an aspiring travel novelist troll their ideas through indiamike and is $15000 too high because it invites blowback:

Our heroine of the novelette 'Dumb Blonde goes to India' (part of the hugely successful Dumb Blonde went everywhere series) and after numerous episodes of steamy adventure in exotic locations - is lured into crime.
However as our heroine was led into bogus transactions, into transactions that never existed, she is freed from those nasty long arms of the law, and accompanied by the resolute Inspector Patel makes a triumphant return to that den of thieves known as Jaipur. Monies are mostly recovered (Inspector Patel and others have expenses), the gem shop proprietor is prosecuted and loses his mercantile account.

Unfortunately due to a horrid fall from an elephant our heroine is air-ambulanced home.

So it goes.

To all the members

Thankyou,
I really appreciate all your feedback and the many views that have been offered.Taking all this into account I have decided there is very little I can do.Obviously ive learned a lot(an understatement!!) through this experience and there is no one to blame but myself.
I will be returning to India soon, but I will leave this matter behind me.I feel there is too much risk to raise this issue with the police,as one member wrote I would be handing my self in!
Just to clear up an issue,I didnt loose my airline ticket I used the return ticket to get home,I was including the ticket in the money I have lost as I will need to purchase another to go back.
I guess this all seems a little "Too far fetched" for some to believe, which I can understand because I cant believe I did it either!Unfortunatly it is true.
Thanks again,if I do have a change of heart and decide to take this further I will let you guys know how I went.

Crystal Came Back!

Well, thanks for taking some of our cynicism so well: it can't help to have your nose rubbed in it.

We look forward to hearing more happy stuff about you and India in the future

Confused about the ticket.. a lost ticket can be reissued and used...

Or maybe crystal does not want to use that flight now...

hang on a minute...what happened to the concern that you had been reported in india and that you were worried that you would be detained if you returned??? this was a major factor initially and was not dealt with (and could not be dealt with) by posters here. hmmm the smell is returning.

I think it is "She" who is returning to India ..... not the avatar - Crystal. Why would Crystal go back to India so soon after taking such a major fleecing ...... certainly not for their flaccid Chocolate Ice Cream .......

Very good point,I have given it some thought but as you know it is a very messy situation.Informing the Indian Consulate of what I have done could result in banning me from India forever!!
Something I do not want to happen.
These scammers have not spoken one word of truth,so I dont believe I am in any trouble.

Another thought then, assuming that we're quite possibly speaking about a box of marbles in the first place which was never sent anyway, you might well have a case.

It's up to you, don't think any of us can help you further.
