I'd still prefer it to a situation where the power cuts are so bad that instead of kneeling im climbing the damn thing!

Its another typical case of companies focused so much on acquiring and retaining market share that they forget to put in place a good CRM...the end result is that your market share will never really grow like it should because you always have customers leaving you...
They knock the costs off the credit you pay to keep the service going. It's like a mobile phone top up service.

Well I have to give credit to the TataSky Engineer who called today.

He fixed it!

Now if it hadn't taken 6 phone calls, two payments and a shouting session I would have been impressed.

Smart, ofcourse u could still protest by not renewing the service...do u think that would help..would their CRM be basic enough to respond to that...

FOTM, I'd guess that, with your working experience here, you are much better experienced at the art of getting things done than I am, but escalation is vital. Another six phone calls and you just might find someone senior who just might give you a refund!

Thanks for putting me off the idea of Tata Sky, by the way!

I have been using Tata Sky for about an year and it's almost been hassle free till date. Had only one problem, which was actually with the transmission. The engineer who visited said I should change my Settop box. I strongly told him that it was actually a problem with the transmission and I am not willing to pay for another Settop. He said he will come back with another Settop and check, but he later called and accepted that the problem was indeed with the transmission. I don't think I was charged for the visit but I forget.

What I don't like about Tata Sky is that for almost every new channel they add, they include it as part of some package like lifestyle or sports etc., to which you have to upgrade by paying more. So your monthly bill keeps going up. There is no point in opting for an entire package when you want only one channel from it. I am thinking of switching back to my local operator but have to see if he has improved his quality of transmission.

Hi Nick, I'm just pleased to get the telly back on - and I don't suppose the alternatives will be much different? The system itself is pretty good.

Prashant - nice car!

My friend's cable operator gives him decent transmission and is cheap too. If he was in my neighbourhood then I would have switched.

Nice car isn't it? Wish it was mine . Some American and European old cars make my heart beat faster by just looking at them.
