Thumbs down Sunderban Tiger Camp Refund Fiasco

After making reservations for a 3 day tour of the Sunderbans for a trip I was to take in late December I had to cancel my trip to India due to work. As soon as I found this out, nearly a month before my holiday, I contacted the folks at www.sunderbantigercamp.com to cancel my reservation. After not hearing from them for almost 3 weeks, and after 2 or 3 emails I started to phone them. Long story short, I have given them my bank details, phoned them several times, e-mailed them dozens of times and as February approaches have still not received any of my refund. While it was very very easy for the sunderban tiger camp to receive my money via the internet, it seems impossible for them to refund it the same way. Buyer beware!

What did they say?

Maybe it will come eventually - some things take a lot of time here! I'm interested in what they said when you phoned too.

what they said

the first few phone calls they said, "wait another week."
the next emails they said, "we gave your information to the bank, you'll just have to wait."

@jonathandamiani - It's about 3 months since your last post, did you get your refund?
If yes, when? Just curious - as one of our important client from US is interested in them - and I we don't want to get them in trouble!

If no, what are the answers you are getting when you are following them up (calls/mails)?

Resolved

Months later and I have finally received my refund. The folks at Sunderban Tiger Camp were very friendly when I puchased the ticket and very friendly when asking me to post this reply that I have received my money.

Well that's good news, even though it did take a while!

Great news for you! Hmm, I'll have to consider revising my first India-axiom (a rupee, once handed over, is never returned). Very probably the post here had something to do with it and they started taking flak and difficult questions.

@jonathandamiani - Good news!

And bragging - Wondering if the phrase "one of our important client from US is interested in them" in my previous post had anything to do with it!!

But alls well that ends well!
