All sympathies with you...

Incredible India Holidays is a big company here in India.

Did you try to contact someone at the given contact numbers on this page, or had you sent any mail to provided e-mails?

Can't understand the situation.

Company is genuine, but money is gone?

Is guy part of company or using their name only?

This seems to be a matter for police. And company should be interested if someone is using their name.

Prakaant May 22nd, 2017 16:09

That's why company is required to be informed and that way a complaint should be filed with the company.

Further no one should transfer money to an individual. It will be help in minimizing cheating/scam.

dillichaat May 22nd, 2017 17:30

You should first of all contact the company via their general e-mail address to find out if this person actually represents them or is known to them.

If the answer to that is 'no' then for all intents, your cash is gone forever and I don't see anything happening after a police complaint by you (might be different f the company files a FIR).

And never, ever, do such payments through WU and address them to a specific person. Pay by credit card to the company's account only. Or through PayPal business. Then at least you have some recourse. Better yet: try to avoid as much as possible paying for anything in advance. Together with the rupees, all your leverage in case they don't deliver as promised goes out the window.

Sounds like the scam is based around a "fake agent", who spreads info about needing to make quick deals to keep his job, and offering time limited "discounts" for quick payment.
Maybe the person can be traced from his phone number, I think you have to show I.D. to get one in India.
(Let's hope the scoundrel has not broken the law there too... ;) )

Sheerluck Edwin.

Unless the travel agency itself gets involved, I wish anyone who wants the cops in Delhi to take action on this (by tracking a mobile number, no less) the best of luck.
