Ripping off people from abroad!

I will explain to you why I think that this is a racket:

- in India, foreigners have to pay 40 to 50 times the entrance fee for world heritage sites an Indian has to pay.
(hey, it´s called a WORLD heritage, isn´t it?)

- if there´s an reduction für "students" that is - such a pity - only for INDIAN students. even if you show them an ISIC, you´ll earn a grin.

not to speak of the thousands of times merchans or taxi-drivers trying to cheat people from abroad and asking for fantasy prices...

and now - oooh there werde sooooo many cases of credit card frauds that it is just not possible anymore to sell tickets to foreigners for the same price an Indian has to pay... (SO SORRY!!)
In fact, if you try to book in India itself as a foreigner you just have to pay minimum triple price...

hell I LOVE the way indians are making business

(guess we should in turn mark up entrance fees 4000% for people from abroad as well...)

Since you have chosen to repeat your previous remarks (from the Air Deccan thread) in a new thread (against the rules, I think?), I will repeat my reply word for word too:

You see that as a racket? I see the discounting as a way to let the Indian general public have a chance to afford a visit to a world heritage site in their own country. Bear in mind too that the 'racket' price charged for foreigners is still way cheaper than an equivalent site in Europe.

Racket? Definitely not.

I happen to agree with this policy.

Indian have a right and an educational need to see these places, it's good that the price tourist pay helps to keep the price down for Indians.

well what you haven´t got in mind is that a few years ago EVERYBODY had to pay the SAME price over there.
So now the INCREASED the entrance fees for people from abroad 4000% and for the Indian people they left it like it was.

So you speak of a DISCOUNT my friend?? oh boy...

Joe .. I am sorry if you feel that way..I tried to explain a lot to you..

U know what people like you do..as of now in the other thread you were saying that Air Deccan can charge 1-2 % extra from foreigners .. and I am sure that if they were doing that..you would have been the first one to shout from your roof they are biased and its a scnadal and they are cheating and you are being ripped off..!!

by the way how much does an entry ticket to a heritage site or a museum costs in Germany, i belong to a poor third world country..does your government give any concession to me..

what will one of your university charge if I go there to study..would it be the same amount or would they give me some concession as I am a poor fellow..NO...but they will charge me more than what they will charge you..they will RIP ME OFF..(in your lingo)..

You need to understand that every government gives priority to its people first..and then others..

Those monuments at some stage were made from Indian Taxpayers money...they were built by emperors & kings & Nawabs, but end of the day it was money that they collected from our forefathers and earned from this land...

So that is the reason they are public property for an Indian and we are supposed to pay only the maintainence for the buildings...whereas people from Non-indian background have to pay a fees for the same..

And nothing is perfect..I hope you do not forget that you are visitng a country that has just started to find its foot once again...it has just started to come out of clutches of evils like poverty and unemployment..

maybe once we are developed, all 1 billion of Indians, we might as well allow you a free entry to these sites..as a gesture of goodwill and brotherhood...but it all depends on the state of a nation..

Semantics... It is certainly not a rip off, which you imply, with your multiple vindictive posts.

In Germany we have a constituation that says: all people are equal and have to be treated equally - no matter where they come from.

THAT is civilisation for me!

Very well put sir. You make some excellent points here (I have picked just one of them).

This guy is clearly a troll. Let's just try ignoring him - he might disappear up his own logic.

Sounds like it's best for you to stay there then. At least you will never be ripped off there.

Financial equality is not something I've seen on the streets of your country, or mine, or India.
