Reliable/Honest/Reasonable rates Driver & Accomo

This must be my umpteenth trip to India ...but would you believe the first ever to the North? I am really keen to find an honest, reliable and fair-rates driver who will cart self and 4 others around. We have a slightly unconventional route planned - Amritsar and Mathura/Vrndavan being additions on the 'standard; Golden Triangle route we are planning. I am struggling to get a driver who will be able to fit in with our lans and not the other way around!!! I have already booked flights from Delhi to Amritsar etc so there are certain legs that are sorted....however we do need somone to pick us up at the airport and help out with the tours of Delhi and (if possible) for a driver to take us the Agra-Khajuraho- Mathura-Jaipur leg. We will fly out of Jaipur back to Delhi.

So basically --(if none of the above makes sense!!) can anyone recommend a good, honest and relaible driver who will be there for the most part but not for it all? Also, any recommendations on good, clean, safe hotels that are reasonably priced.....5 people travelling.

Any info would be appreciated. Good luck to everyone else out there with the same dilemmas as myself. The planning is a bit of a 'mare but once you get there, Incredible India is truly incredible. That country bombards every sense and literally takes the wind out of your sails. It is magnificient, beautiful, gob-smacking, riddled with complexes and there isnt another country like it on this planet. Love it or hate it, anyone who can afford it should do it at least once in a lifetime!
