Negotiating prices, Mainly drivers, all tips welcome

I often want a driver just to get from point A to point B... I have not been in any city long enough to figure out the Bus Transportation, so I rely on individual drivers

I need drivers to get me from Point A to Point be in a city

I would like to get drivers that would Drive and drop me on a few long range drives... I.E. Delhi to Dharamsala (a full day drive)

And I am on a budget... I want to pay a fair price, But I don't want to be overcharged...

Destinations this round, Landing in Delhi, travel to Dharamsala, back to Delhi and over to Varanasi... I am considering spice Air to Varanasi... But Varanasi driver.. and may go to BohdGaya..

Feb-March

So general and specifics... any info is welcome.

If you're on a budget and want to pay a fair price, take a train! Might save on hotel money also.

No matter what you do, a car will never be as cheap as the train in Sl or even AC3-class. If you want to take a car, visit a couple of taxi stands in Delhi and ask for prices so you can compare but don't expect miracles because gas isn't cheap and road conditions are harsh on the cars, which reflects in the prices.

For long distance drives to popular destinations some stands have rates that are mentioned outside but it'll be in devanagari script so unless you can read that it's not a big help. Delhi-Varanasi in one day by car is absolutely impossible, I don't even know if you can do it in 2 days. Take a plane or the night train from Delhi.
