missed calls from international numbers
missed calls from international numbers
The day before yesterday I got a call from +18012401000 & today I got a call from +923057102602.
I don't know anyone from Pakistan. I know few people from the US but they do not have my number.
Please suggest if I should intimate my telecom operator or police too.
I really like this new look for Indiamike.

Wrong numbers can be used through human error, transcription mistakes etc etc.
Once when a tourist in India I received a wrong number call from Germany on my mobile with an Airtel Prepaid sim card I had just acquired. As I speak only English I struggled for half a minute to explain to the caller. Numbers are recycled, my caller may have called a number once correct for the person he wanted.
I lack the local knowledge to know if the numbers you list have any significance but at least you have them. Much better than being pestered by people calling from a call centre with a hidden number.

I have prepaid. I do not keep much balance since my wife is back from her country. Thank God
Prakaant, I posted here because once I saw on tv that such things can happen to clone your number/card.

Dek, As you are a long term user of your number it seems that your number may have been published by mistake e.g. on a web page instead of the correct one. There are some scams around where you should never call or text back unknown callers as you can incur real expense.

@Dek, Yes, you are correct! We should remain alert on that aspect!!
@unclelach, I have seen the pattern they randomly pick the number, as in my case I have never populated my cell no, but I do receive these blank calls.

This is a new scam on the block. Most people will call back on the number and the revenues will be shared between the telecom operators.
Other than this, no need to worry if you pick up the number as it is their loss, but you would have to be really fast for that

Sometimes, the joy that the Daybreak brings, is unparalleled!
This happened with me last month, I was driving the hills of mahabaleshwar and this unidentified number gave a missed call. I was aware of international giving missed calls and was particular in not calling them back.
That day on reaching mahabaleshwar, the drizzle and the careless mind overlooked the +92 or something. I called back and heard some gibbrish at the other end in a female voice. 10/15 secs and I realized , something was wrong. I hung up and gave a better look at the number.
The cost was INR 10 for 10 seconds or so in this months bill.

yesterday again I got a missed call from +923057102602.
I wrote to my telecom operator, they say do not entertain calls from +92 but they didn't say anything for +180.
+92 is Pakistan Code, right?
+180?

Right. +92 is pakistan.
There was a news in TOI some 2 months back (I remember coz i shared it on Facebook) which had numbers starting from +92 when you call back, your entire balance would be drained
