That's really an interesting thread.
I'd like to add (based on experiences 10 years ago, and going back to the region in a few weeks): Kasol. - Full of loud Isrealis who only have party on their minds. Not that I don't like a good party every now and then, I somehow enjoyed Old Manali, though I stayed in Vashisht for the nights away from the hassle, but Kasol was just too much. Must add: the busride through the valley on top of the bus is awesome! |

For me it's:
Agra & Bangalore Yes Agra has the Taj and yes, it's a nice building but it's the persistent and aggressive touts that spoiled the place for me. Bangalore because of the pollution; congestion (roads and for me, lungs); scams. Have to admit, I like Delhi... Cheers Zoltan

Calangute/baga 3 times and always had a bad experience of being ripped off at the hotels and taxis.
So if its goa only the beach at the extreme north or south for me.
