I'm not going there again,,,,,,,
Have you ever said that? Have you decided to not visit a particular place again.
We've all got & have read about everyones favourite place in India, But what about your least favourite, Why?, what makes it so.
For me reluctantly it's got to be North Goa. sorry to all present & future Goa lovers, I used to love the place too. I've been back several times in recent years on I guess a wave of nostalgia., but really it's beauty is getting so so spoilt these days, plastic bottle mountains & litter everywhere. English pubs, kareoke nights, tourists who fly in for a couple of weeks and don't give a toss for anything apart from a suntan etc, You know what I'm saying.
So I guess that particular destination's been put in the archives for me.

So, We all share our favorite places, but whats your least favourite place and why,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Mysore, without a doubt!

Apart from Tipu Sultan's this and that, it had nothing to offer me !!

I too owe an apology to Mysore lovers.

Puri
Udaipur
Khajuraho
Jaipur
Pondicherry
Why am I afraid I'm describing my next trip???

Swore off goa in '84- so far so good!
But there is a buzz about opening a detox there, so . . .

I didn't like Varanasi much. I even don't know why exactly. Maybe in a future I'll give it another try.
Anyway that time 2 years ago after 2 days there I wanted to live the place at eairliest so much, that I took a wrong train to Calcutta instead of Delhi, and had to change in an the next train stop in the middle of nowhere.

Agra - apart from one thing - the TM - it's the pits. Got hassled so much I might as well have been in Goa! Had power cuts, dodgy food, really bad smog and it's the only place I actually told a rickshaw tout to "F off" which is unlike me!

Don't let me put you off - the Taj is magnificent - but I shudder when I read that people are planning to stay a few days in Agra - a day trip on the early Shatabdi train from New Delhi is all you need to see plenty of the Taj Mahal and the Fort too then GET THE HELL OUT!

I had a quite dodgy moment of hassle from a tout in Siliguri, in 1999... I can't say I was happy to spend the night in that town, in spite of the Chancellor hotel being very friendly.

Would have loved to hate mumbai!!! But can anyone hate the utopian romantic Mumbai ??? I still love the city. But otherwise, there is no place for me not to go again. All places have offered me experiences which added up.... But can clearly relate to what seventies mentioned, otherwise - its just another day and another way.... life goes on.

It has to be Kasol for the first, and Agra for the second ...... except for smoke and dirt there is nuthin much to do and see ..... the mountains being the saving grace for Kasol and Manikaran and TM for Agra, strangely I owe an apology to Jaipur ....... its just too annoying as well ....... anyways some one heard of Gushaini ..... during my recent travels up the Jalori pass in Himachal I spent a few days here in the Tirthan valley ........ sure it is amazing grace ......... by the river side in Gushaini ........

Ahmedebad

Ahmedebad...

Think it was just bad luck... I'd planned to take a bus from Bhuj to Ahmedebad and when I asked the conductor if it was ' express ' , naturally he said ' yes '..

Expected to take 4 hrs - in the end 9hrs as it stopped EVERYWHERE.

Got to Ahmedebad, had some stones thrown at me , had the WORST room I've ever had , got sick on a milky ( watery ) desert and was due to take a train to Varanassi the next day which was due to take about 15hrs which took 3 days ! In the end, the train was diverted to Nepal due to a crash - but I didn't realise this !

Naturally, it's ALL Ahmedebad's fault.

One day I'll go back and try again.

Kovalem ...was there in 93 and vowed never to return ...too much writing on the wall so to speak and reports have confirmed this

Baga ... A sad demise

Agra ...Saw the taj no wish to return

Mumbai ...I avoid it all costs unless I have no option

Also I seem to be in a minority of one on this but Diu just never done it for me ... Again didnt hate it ...That honour goes only to Mumbai but then that could change though i have my doubts

Can't think of any really adversive places, though after reading Butterball's post, I'll be scratching Ahmedebad off my list. Can't do having rocks thrown at me. (loved the story though!)
There have been plenty of ho-hum places, Munnar being one of them.
Can't help but say I love Mumbai, Varanasi and Madurai...I also love Los Angeles. For those of you who know Los Angeles: that will explain alot about my taste in places.
I've never been and likely will never go to Goa, for all the reasons previously mentioned.
I'm also curious about BJ's list...I'm planning on going to Rajasthan next, and would like to hear a few words on why Udaipur and Jaipur are on the list.

Put me down for Agra, too. Now that the Taj and fort cost $20 US each to see, there's no reason to put up with that crap again.
