An offer of food is an offer of friendship; some criminals abuse this (though I bet no member here knows anyone who has been drugged).
unfortunately a member of IM was robbed in this way a few days ago. His name is cesar. Someone gave him and his friend some cookies with drugs and they end up in the hospital.
Now he is ok in a camel safari in the Thar Desert.

jens: I live in Argentina, and unfortunately, we have some issues with security here but i believe that is the same in most of the turistic places.

Overnight Bus from Mumbay to Goa-I chatted at a Chai stop with an english guy just off the plane. On arrival just before dawn the bus driver stopped us as we were leaving and asked ,'what about your friend?' and pointed to the guy sleeping on the bus. As we didn,t know him - and due to the early hour we didnt really give it another thought. A week later I met him in a beech bar looking the worse for wear. He had woken in hospital. The driver had dumped himand his bag by the side of the road. Apparently he had accepted a biscuit from the guy next to him who had taken his money belt. The police had gone throiugh his bag and had everything valuable out of the bottom before repacking it! The police chief was happy to sign all his insurance forms as long as he didn,t object.

I agree with Stephen that you can get a feel for a situation. Never say never

I always figure your OK if theres more than 1 of you. Also a train carriage is probably alot more 'public' than a luxory coach at 2am

Eldaras, I'm saddened to hear about cesar, I hope this is not the start of many such incidents.

Do you know what train he was on?

Was it the overnight train from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer, or the Delhi to Jaisalmer train (departs Jodhpur early in the morning for Jaisalmer)?

Hi Steve!

I believe it was in the train that goes from Delhi to Jaisalmer, because they ended in a Hostpital in Jodhpur but after that they continued their trip to Jaisalmer.
