What on Earth is in Bikaner's old city?

We'll be in Bikaner at the end of the month. We have a number of guide books that tell you about the fort but they all fail to talk about what's in the old city. Okay, maybe a temple is mentioned. But what is in there? Has anyone gone in? Will we run into people like we did twice in Delhi who say, "This is not a place for tourists. This is residential. You shouldn't be here." Or will we be able to move about and see a lot of nice Rajasthani life?

Bikaner old city is a live museum. you can see lot of goldsmith, blacksmith working and spicy, vegitable market is so coulerfull and lot of havelis with stone carving. these all thing you are allow to see.

I don't know whats there there but I do like the snack of Bikaner, the famous Bikaneri Bhujia!! Oh! How I love Junk...i mean Junk food !!

Weeeee! A living history desert city and good food!!!

I'm thinking that it probably doesn't matter if there are actual sites listed in guide books. We're just going to wander around.

And I'm guessing that the tuk tuk drivers aren't as pushy as in Delhi.
