Do you have anything to say?
Or do you just post links to other websites?

Hi Nick..just a line to defende Joan6..the blog does seem genuine and does give a tourist's point of view of the safari experience. The theres the Stockholm Syndrome also.

Desert safari is popular in INDIA and specially in RAJASTHAN where you can ride on CAMELS in deep regions of DESERT.
You can ride on jeeps here so best bet is CAMEL. This is known as DESERT SAFARI as for INDIA is concerned. |

Well I did the desert safari in Jodhpur, by jeep. It's short, just a morning, and I found it completely boring, except for the opium ceremonoy (nice, different). The rest of the ride was about seeing animals very far (including camels that you can see anywhere in Rajasthan) and specially the insistent attempt to sell you pottery, carpets, souvenirs, etc. After several days in India I was tired of that.
But, I repeat, the opium ceremony (the last stop) when they make the opium tea and you drink with the guy was cool. And it's not a heavy drug but a relaxing drink. I was upset because I thought the ride was a waste of time but when I was going back to the hotel, I already had drunk the opium and I was full peace and love thinking, ha haaa |

That's a great Blog, Joan - thanks for sharing your find. I did a 3 day camel safari from Jaisalmeer, and had a wonderful time.

A desert safari is a way to earn money by giving naive tourists the idea that they are living a real adventure.
