Weather in Rajasthan - Oct
Need some advise on the weather in last two weeks of Oct in Rajasthan (19th to 27th). I will be visiting Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Pushkar, Udaipur.
1) Do I need to carry woolens (light or heavy)? I guess it won't be that cold so no need to carry heavy jackets etc. but I was wondering if I need to even carry a basic light woolen sweater or shawl. 2) Will it be very hot in the afternoons? 3) I am planning to book a taxi mainly to travel between the cities during the day time. Do I go for A/C or Non A/C car? |

The average maximum temperature is 33oC to 38oC, and the minimum is between 18oC and 20oC approximately..

Just checking weather outside - it is 3.30 p.m. and I have the a/c on inside. Yes, it's very warm. My washing dries in 30 mins so that's an indication.
However, my room is slowly decreasing in temperature - it now climbs to 27.5 degrees, having dropped to 25'C inside with all the windows wide open at night. Night is now cool. You will not need heavy woollens. I am still in cottons, even for the evening when we go out. By the time the night feels cold you would be asleep. Pack some light shawls just in case it feels cool for you. I think if you are used to heat, and you do most of your travelling starting early morning, you could manage without a/c in the car for the last 2 weeks. The hottest time is around 2.30p.m. onwards till after the sun goes down. I didn't put on my a/c here in the room today, until 1.30 p.m. so this is a good sign, the weather is slowly going slightly cooler, at long last.

You will need a light jacket or shawl for the evenings. Bring your one jumper. If you need warmer clothes you can easily buy woollen shawls cheaply - for both men and women.

Are the winters as cold as UK?
It gets bone chilling over here.... i think its actually warmer in parts of europe that get snow than UK .. where we just get rain rain rian - wind and rain - freeze wind and rain - rain freeze rain .. but in uk we have the chill factor - which means the cold goes straight through your clothes ;-( |
