Violence and curfew in Chittorgarh
This happened at Holi, but apparently a curfew is still in place. Similar scenes in Tonk as well. A tourist was turned away from Chittorgarh today by police, so if anyone is in the area and was planning to visit, at the moment it seems you can't.
Does anyone have any clearer idea what caused the fighting? I've read something about slogans daubed on walls, another story about the route of a religious procession, and a third about a burned motorbike? 42 arrests!  http://tinyurl.com/2uh4ga |
