Just back from Udaipur. The lake has tons of water. Enough to charter a boat and take a spin

Udaipur and Pushkar are very different cities. Apples and Oranges comparision.
Udaipur has history/palaces etc and is a much larger city the other is more religion oriented.

Someone posted yesterday that she'd been to Pushkar and the lake was dry. I wish she'd posted a photo.

yes, the lake is dry due to "beautification measures" taken by the municipal authorities. They apparently made the lake deeper by digging away the silt. As a result the lake could not hold the sparse rainwater and now it is empty.
Here is the article in the TOI with photos:

Just came back from Rajasthan. Pushkar's lake is indeed bone dry with construction going on. It looks like it will be dry well into next year as they still seem to be working on it (although there wasn't that much work going on...just a bunch of equipment). Udaipur lake has enough water. Supposedly, its a few feet lower than it should be right now since its been hotter than normal for this time of year. But there's still plenty of water. It was beautiful.
