Udaipur or Jodhpur for New Year's Eve? Which one?

We are planing our trip to Rajasthan and we have the choice of spending New Year's Eve in either Udaipur or Jodhpur. Just wondering which would be more exciting - not really party wise - just you know - atmosphere, fireworks etc (do they have these over the lake at Udaipur?)

Any opinions welcome.

I think the Lake Palace Hotel in Udaipur must do some sort of New Year's fireworks, but I couldn't say for sure. Even if they don't, you could celebrate with a viewing of Octopussy

Udaipur is a lovely place though, I would spend New Year's there over Jodhpur anyway

I agree. Udaipur is more compact, and the fireworks will certainly be shot off over the (?) dry lake.

I was there last year during wedding season, and there were nightly fireworks over the lake. Having never seen the lake with water before, I found the dry lake pretty wonderful.

Udaipur is good comparatively but you can think for jaisalmer too.
