Udaipur Hotels?

Can anyone recomend Hotels in Udaipur costing in the region of £20- 40 a night per double room? Swimming pools would be a bonus.

Thanks!

Kankarwa Haveli

While I have not yet stayed at Kankarwa Haveli in Udaipur, I've booked for three nights in November. The Haveli is right beside the lake and very close to the city palace. Double lake-front room 1782Rp, double standard room 1350Rp - both including tax. Found them at www.indianheritagehotels.com. Have a look and make up your own mind. If you are interested the email address is: kankarwahaveli@hotmail.com.

Staff very helpful, offering to collect from the railway station for 150Rp and arranging a car with driver from Udaipur - Jodhpur via Ranakpur for 2800Rp non air-conditioned or 3500Rp airconditioned. (And I've had positive feedback from IMers on this price.)

I hope that Kankarwa will live up to my expectations...

Udai Kothi has a swimming pool but it is expensive. Actually you do not need a swimming pool at the hotel. There are so much to see and eg Udai Kothi charged Rs 300 for non-residents.
