Haven't heard of this, maybe a small village or town.
The one a flight goes to is surely it. Though this site says 260 km..(Jodhpur Udaipur) and it is a govt. site, I think. http://www.rajasthan.gov.in/Distance%20Chart.SHTM |

I wonder what is the most popular name for a town or city in India?
Deogarh has got to be near the top of the list, I've seen dozens of places called Deogarh on maps. And why was there 2 very large cities called Hyderabad? (before partition) |

There's actually a selection of Udaipurs in India though there may be spelling variations .Again they're named after men named Udai/Uday +pur/pore.
My favourite Udaipur is in Tripura.I wanted to go somewhere REALLY off the beaten track and had a minor dizzy spell when I found there was no restrictions and no permit required though this seems to come and go. (If you manage to go you may find travel restriction in force because of political disturbances) Here's some info on Udaipur, Tripura. http://www.north-east-india.com/tripura/udaipur.html Is Tripura worth visiting? ,you may ask- If you really want to get as far away from the banana pancake circuit and still be in India -YES If you want to visit tribal areas -definitely. There's not a lot in the way of "tourist attractions" except for those of us whose main past time is people watching. It's possible to fly in then leave overland via Bangladesh - another area strictly for the intrepid nowadays. |

There is one more Udaipur in the north-west of Keylong in Himachal Pradesh. There is a temple of Trilokinath near Udaipur.

There's a place called Mangalore in Victoria, Australia.
I have come across a town called Bombay on the Auckland-Hamilton route in NZ. There's also a place called Khandalah somewhere near Wellington. |
