You can buy drink in Jagat Niwas - don't think it has a separate bar area as such, though.
Aishah could you please tell me about late night dining options?
Places that accept orders after 11 pm? With drinks served, and a roof top view?
According to Lonely Planet most places close at 10:30
We arrive only by the 9:30 train.

Indizen - not living in Udaipur, only holidaying there a few times, I really don't know the answer to that question re after 11 p.m. orders. I have been in Jagat Niwas with friends dining up to midnight, but whether they actually take orders after 11 p.m.I don't know. Have you booked a hotel for the night? contact them, they may be able to make an arrangement for you.

Well, I actually rang up Jagat Niwas yesterday and they said they don't take orders after 10:30.
Could you suggest a nice bar for beer or drinks in the afternoon?
Again that "with a view" syndrome that afflicts Udaipur!!!

Are the rates for boat rides in Udaipur fixed or is tedious bargaining needed?
Are boats there in Fateh sagar as well?

If you have budget flexibility I'd think you might find the latest-going dining at the fancier hotels. Don't most very fancy hotels have some kind of 24 hour food availability? Maybe find the least fancy place that's open late.

the full package City Palace, Boat Ride, Crystal Gallery and Vintage Cars costs 850 IRS currently.
If you don't want to see the Vintage Cars, then buy single tickets, its cheaper, although they try to sell you the package.
The package is sold at the entrance of the City Palace.

I cannot really tell you about going out or dining late, but camel riding is available at Fateh Sagar Lake, in the afternoons and evenings at Sukhadia Circle or if you want to do Camel riding in the countryside, send me a message.

The crystal gallery is the most expensive part of the package...many people do not see that and the vintage cars..and are content with the city palace and the boat ride..

Thanks for the useful replies, guyz.

Where can we hire a bike for the day? What is the procedure and how much would it cost?
As an alternative, can we hire an auto for the day? Cost, with n without a trip to Monsoon palace?
Thanks
