You may opt for Delhi-Gurgaon-Bhiwadi-Alwar-Rajgarh-Sikandra-Dausa-Lalsot-Ranthambore route. It is around 400 KMs and you can cover it in 8 Hrs.

No need to go to Jaipur. The route suggested by me is at least 75 KMs short.

This is mostly Toll Road.....and road quality is excellent except may be at Dausa-Lalsot stretch which is some 30 KMs. or so... But even that's not bad.

You'll enjoy it !

travdoc,

Upto Alwar, you'll find good places...from Sikandara it's rural Rajasthan....so nothing great. Since you are with kids, I'll advise you to carry some eatables with you (Chips & soft drinks are available everywhere).

Gr8 ! You started from Gurgaon, hence saved 1/2 an hour.
