Small town/village

Hi

Can anyone recommend a small town or village with a nice place to stay in the Ajmer/pushkar/jodhpur area?

Ideally I would like a heritage style place and it's only for three nights so not too far off the beaten track.

Thanks
Gus

I second that! Pushkar is amazing. Just be very careful dealing with the "priests" who perform the ceremony for you. They're going to try to get you to "donate" a lot of money. My advice, make up your mind before you go there as to how much you're going to give... and don't budge.

Thanks Guys

I will be in India at the end of October this year when the Pushkar camel fair will be in full swing so I would like to be close enough to visit for a day trip but stay somewhere reasonably quite. I have attempted to get a booking in Pushkar but not much look yet.

We stayed at the Green Park Resort in Pushkar last year and absolutely loved it. We were in a second floor corner room and it was brand new, clean and airy, had a huge bathroom with hot water and was quiet. The food was fantastic and everyone was very friendly and helpful. We paid Rs 450 for a non-AC double.

Their website is: www.greenparkresort.net

Heritage properties are a bit pricey, but if that is not the overriding consideration, try the Deogarh Mahal- www.deogarhmahal.com. It is located in the area you want and Deogarh is a charming little town.

The hotel itself has been recommended by us to many of our guests and the feedback has always been very positive.
