Thumbs up Royal Rajasthan beckons - need help?

Hi

If you need any information on Rajasthan - hotels, costs, weather, routes, distances, unexplored destinations, specific interest tourism, or just about anything else, use this thread.

We own a small boutique hotel in Jaipur, called the Jasvilas, and can give you useful inputs.

Happy to be of assistance!

I am looking for a placein India to live for several months. We want a house, a little apart from other houses, in a quiet area without a lot of noise either from people or streets or crows, etc, low mosquito problem, reasonably easy access to city markets, and when coming from outside the country.

Any suggestions?

Hi, I know it's a very specific question but I would like to know if it's possible to plan to travel in one day from Barmer to Mt. Abu? Isn't too long due road conditions?
Are there some places on the way are worth?
A smile
Luca

the railway line from Barmer to Luni is closed at the moment for gauge conversion, so travel by buses may be more crowded and uncomfortable than normal.

I have never personally made this trip but I am told the road is OK, though a bit narrow. The distance between Barmer and Mt. Abu is around 350 KM. The time taken to cover this is about six hours.

The other route is to return to Jodhpur and then proceed to Mt. Abu but that is too long a distance, though you can cover the distance in one day.

My transporter advises that you should take the direct route; there is not much traffic on this route so you will probably have the road to yourself for most of the way!
