Ranthambore to Udaipur drive time (overnight Bundi or Chittaurgarh?)
After a morning safari tour in Ranthambore park (ends at 11:00 am) we would like to drive ( by rental car with driver) to Udaipur.
There is a lot of information about the distance in km but not about how many hours this drive might take. The road conditions seem to be bad and also a lot of roadworks on the way (?). Additionally I was told that it is not recommended to drive after sunset.
We would like to do sightseeing in Udaipur on the next day and would prefer to arrive in Udaipur the next morning. I could find hotels on the way in Bundi (or Kota) and Chittaurgarh.
What are the driving times in hours?
- Ranthambore to Bundi
- Bundi to Chittaurgarh
- Chittaurgarh to Udaipur
and where would you recommend to stay overnight?
Thank you!
Ingo

Ingo - can't tell you driving times but for your own comfort if you are leaving after a safari in Ranthambore then I would stay in Bundi, a charming village on the way and see Chittaurgarh the next morning en route to Udaipur. Nothing much in Chitt. to stay in - Bundi is much nicer. I stayed in a dump of a hotel in Chittaurgarh and thoroughly regretted it in 1999! A very ordinary city with not much to recommend it. The Fort is right on the outskirts of the city.
Every cloud has a silver lining!
We did Udaipur-Bundi lst year. It took us eight hours by car....

Hi,
I am thinking of doing Ranthambore to Bundi via car. We'd leave at (say) 9AM. Spend the afternoon seeing the palace and fort in Bundi (is this enough time)? And then continue via car to Kota to catch a 1AM train to Udaipur.
I know this will be a busy day.. most of our trip will be much more relaxing. But, I'm curious how long it will take to go Ranthambore->Bundi, and if this will leave enough time in Bundi.
Does anyone know how much this ride should cost?
Thanks and best wishes.
