Rajasthan - what to see, where to go?

I will be travelling Rajasthan with my mom and dad for 4 days, we will first arrive in Jaipur and spent 1.5days. Looking for advice what to see and where to go after that. A friend suggested Jodhpur and Udaipur, which both look interesting, but I'm scared that this will be too 'touristy', I want to see a mix of tourist attractions and the 'real India'. Anyone have ideas or suggestions?

Your friend is right, Jodphur or Udaipur would be a nice stop. Don't worry about the "touristy" part. India, in general, isn't as touristy as other places you may have visited. Your trip is for a few days, so getting "out there" would take time, so relax and enjoy one of these destinations. Hard to decide which one to go to: depends on what you like to see and do.

I agree with Sita, your trip is too short to be fitting in much else and India is a different kind of touristy. I would suggest Udaipur if you like lakes and scenery, and Johdpur if you like forts. It's fort is spectacular. They are both worthy choices anyway.

After you leave Jaipur do you have to return there within your 4 days - or do you head for another place at the end of the 4 days? It would help in planning an itinerary if we know this.
