We are planning a trip to Rajasthan in early March-2018.
The places we wish to cover are

1. Bhopal - Sanchi stupa and Bhimbetka caves.
Ujjain - Temple.
Chittorgarh - Fort.
Ajmer Darga and Pushkara Temple
Jodhpur - Fort and other stuff.
Jaisalmer - Fort and Desert safari with a night halt. Probably Two days.
Bikaner - Jain temple and forts.
Jaipur - Two days

We will be starting from Hyderabad and wish to travel up to Bhopal by train.
Further on what are the travel options.
As we are visiting Rajasthan for the first time, day journeys may be enjoyable.

I wish suggestions regarding the itinerary, locations of stay and mode of transport.

Thanks.

As per your itinerary you will require at least 8-9 days for rajasthan only.. Please mention your time frame, number of travellers for mode of transportation.
I have recently been to Jaipur, Jaislmer, jodhpur and udaipur.

Suggetions for hotels:

Jaipur: Park reget.
Jodhpur: Kuchaman Haveli
Jaisalmer: Hotel golden house (Decent hotel with all basic facilities).

Thanks a lot Deep! We are three of us me, my wife and daughter aged twenty. I prefer train or taxi. I don't have any knowledge of bus transport in Rajasthan. 8-9 days for Rajasthan means another couple of days for Bhopal and Ujjain.

I wish it does not exceed ten days.

I have a plan which you can follow..

Ujjain to Ajmer –train/bus
1. Ajmer local,Pushkar Night stay Ajmer
2. Depart from ajmer-reach jodhpur. Visit Mehrangarh fort.Night stay at jodhpur
3. Jodhpur local and depart to Jaisalmer. Night stay at jaisalmer
4. Jaisalmer local-depart for desert in the afternoon evening at desert, night stay at desert camp
5. Jaisalmer to Bikaner. Night stay at Bikaner
6. Bikaner local. Night stay bikaner
7. Bikaner to Jaipur Night stay bikaner
8. Jaipur-Aamer fort, City palace, Jantar mantar
9. Jaipur Nahargarh fort, Jaigarh fort,Jalmahal evening/night depart .

I have not covered chittorgarh in this plan as I personally found it less interesting in comparison of Jaipur, jodhpur and jaisalmer.80% of the fort is damaged and also we can see it only from outside.. so can be skipped. BUt this is my persnal choice..

Balramjampani- you're rushing around a lot. I found enough to see in Bhopal area over four days and I was moving quite fast - see trip report in my signature for some ideas.

If you were to do that area properly I'd recommend you skip Ujjain, and drop bikaner as well from your itinerary. You need three days for Jaisalmer - one for fort, old town havelis, gadisar, bada bagh , half to a full day for lohdruva, dunes, Amar Sagar and one day for tanot (Pakistan border), even then you're missing spots. To save time, fly one way Jaisalmer to Jaipur. If booked in advance, it's a competitive fare.
Chittaur fort is sufficiently restored for 3 hours or more. Jodhpur requires day and a half to two days, Udaipur needs two days. Suggest you go through some reports and replan please.
