Rajasthan Tour - Dec
Hi IMers,
Last 2 days of my free time is spent on browsing information and tips about Rajasthan in IM-Posts. Found lot of useful info based on which I made a rough sketch of my trip around Rajasthan this Dec. Thanks to IMers for this. Day 1: Bangalore to Ahmedabad (Flight) Ahmedabad to Udaipur (Bus) Stay in Udaipur Day 2: Udaipur Sightseeing Stay in Udaipur Day 3: Udaipur to Jodhpur (via Ranakpur??) Can I get a one way taxi? Stay at Jodhpur Day 4: Jodhpur Sightseeing Overnight train to Jaisalmer Day 5: reach Jaisalmer Jaisalmer Sightseeing Stay at Jaisalmer Day 6: Jaisalmer Sightseeing Overnight train to Jaipur (17:15 Delhi express) Day 7: Jaipur Sightseeing Stay at Jaipur Day 8: Jaipur to Agra Is it possible to do this stretch in a day. Stay at Agra Day 9: Agra - Mathura - Delhi (Taxi) Delhi-Bangalore (Flight) Is the itinerary too cramped? I still have a day in hand, where should I spend it, can anyone please suggest? I have consciously omitted Pushkar and MtAbu, are they something that are worth visiting in this schedule? Is Bikaner a must visit place? Thanks Harsha |

In my opinion, it's a good itinerary.
Taxi will charge for return too. jaipur - Agra is 5 Hrs. only. May add Bharatpur also. May give one extra day to Udaipur.

Hi,
I have some more questions 1. Is December first week a good time to go to rajasthan? will it be too cold? 2. How can I reach Khuri from Jaisalmer, can I hire a taxi? or any public transport? 3. How can i do this(Apart from taxi)? Udaipur-Kumbhalgarh-ranakpur-Jodhpur? Thanks in advance Harsha |

Dec 1st week should be a good time. Overnight on dunes might get a bit cold, if you are interested in that. But a few blankets can beat that.
Khuri is 30-35km from jaisalmer. Hiring a vehicle is easy. I've heard there are buses also, but I didn't use it.

I believe there are bus routes to Ranakpur from Udaipur, Kumbhalgarh is close by to Ranakpur, so doable via taxi I imagine from Ranakpur.
Although the bus is apparently 6-7 hours from Jodhpur to Udaipur so it will be a long day to stop off at Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh as well.

That would be really long route. Travelling on road is fine for me. Just wanted to know how can I cover both Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh fort in a day. -Harsha |
