Rajasthan itinerary advice: 10 days - beginning in Udaipur

Hi, I'm new here.Me and a mate are sitting in Udaipur trying to sort out an itinerary.We ultimately want to end up in either Delhi or Himachal pradesh. WE have around 10 days to goof around rajasthan. We'd like to see jaislamer, jaipurm, jodhpur, pushkar plus anything else recommended. We can add days if necessary.

We have guys over here offering us to drive us around the whole thing for 21000rupees. We would rather train etc for the adventure/fun.

We would greatly appreciate any help you guys can offer in helping us put together an efficient itinerary.Should we train only? train and car? car only?

We are a bit confused and are being told different things by different people in town.

First thing, 10 days tour in car for Rs. 21000 is not bad.....

Having your car means flexibility but it means long journeys too... in trains you can sleep and take some rest, but in cars it's not possible....

Train + Cars is good combination, but will need a great degree of planning and booking tickets and Taxi in advance....

Hi

I have just come back from Rajasthan after a 12 day trip and hence will advice you to take either intercity trains or bus... Trains are more comfortable than busses but Rajasthan does offer very good bus service including sleeper bus for for night journeys. Pls use the Car for intracity travels.

In 10 days you can cover 3 cities comfortably provided you travel by the night train/bus. You can stretch it upto 4 at the most.... but pls dont do beyond that.
