HOT.

The maximum will be in the 40's, centigrade. Mid forties outdoors.

Late July may get a little better, though.

Would you consider the Himalaya???

Like the Cap'n say it will be HOT, don't despair though I've not done it personally, people HAVE traveled in this part of India in June/July and SURVIVED.

Take it easy, drink plenty of fluids don't plan too much and make use of the mountains in Rajasthan for a break from the heat!!

I was there late May........and it was 48C in Jaipur. I never went to the mountains unfortunately. That maybe a better option for you.

As Cyberhippie said....drink plenty of water - you'll need it - even if you don't feel thirsty.

Summer in India

During last many years not much people travel to Rajasthan in summer time but this year many people are planing to comeing to visit this part of India.
Sure it is hottest time in may and June.
Most of Indian people has school in these two months so they travel lot at this time. Best idia to see Indian Himalaya( mountains) but if you plan to visit Rajasthan than you have to plan your schedule in a better way like you can visit places in the morning till 11am after till5pm you can take rest in the hotel and shoul enjoy swiming pool. Nights are very pleasent specially in the desert.
Wish you all the best.

as it has already been stated, it is possible but hot. I would avoid the desert cities such as Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Bikaner and head for the cooler places in the south of Rajasthan such as Bundi, Udaipur, Chittorgarh and Mount Abu.
Especially Rajasthan's only hill station is a great place to spend a couple of summer days.
Mai and June are hot. Usually by the end of June, beginning of July the Monsoon arrives in Rajasthan, bringing some welcomed clouds and a decrease in the temperatures.
The first rainshowers will bring out a fresh twinkle of green and soon the yellow and brown colours of the semi-desert turn into a lush garden. Udaipur is the place to experience that at its best.

best regards,
anjuli

I would take Anjuli's advice - June is one month of the year I have never stayed in Jaisalmer - it is notorious for sandstorms and temps up to 50's! I head to the mountains mid-May at the latest (May is temps in 40's) You can't do anything during the day except stay inside and day after day this starts feeling like gaol. To walk outside in the day head for any of the mountain regions. July, the eastern part of Rajasthan is better with the cooling effects of the monsoon starting.
