Rajasthan - Diwali
Just read that Diwali is from the 5th of Nov this year (2009), and realised that we will be in Jaisalmer. I understand that Jaisalmer's accommodation becomes quite booked out over this time, as a lot of Indian tourists visit.
As Diwali is over five days, what is likely to be happening in Jaisalmer (and why is it a particularly popular place for Indians at this time)? Have we Ieft it too late to book?! If not, where would be the best place to stay, so we too can enjoy the festival? Or, is it so busy that it might be better to stay on the outskirts? Thanks! |
