Rajasthan Canal,Can it be travelled by boat??
Hi all
A friend in the construction industry jokeingly asked me when he heard we were going to Rajasthan, "if we were going to cruise down the "Rajasthan Canal" by boat" Is this Possible??? I did a Google, but all I came up with is a miriad of Canal stats re the building of the canal and interesting geographical info. Nothing related to travelling the canal unfortunatly. The canal is now know as the "Indira Gandhi Canal" Incidently it is the WORLDS longest canal running from some place in the Punjab, south through the Thar Desert down past the old desert city of Jaisalmer. Has anyone any further info on this canal that would interest a traveller??? Thanks |

There is no boat service in the Canal, though some people do travel short distances using small boats, (perhaps they own them!)
