Hi Everyone!
I'm off on my first round the world trip in April 2010. Our first stop is India, flying into Dehli. We are 2 females travelling (not sure if that makes any difference!) Are we better to have an arranged tour around Rajasthan? We're looking to spend about 15 days touring this area. I don't want to spend most of our time looking at train timetables and finding our way around if it's going to be difficult. I like the idea of having someone show us the sights and accomodation arranged, but we are also on a tight budget so don't want to spend money we don't need to. If it is going to be best to book a tour, who are the best people to book with? Argh - help! Any info would be appreciated! Steph |

Hello Steph,
I am not too sure about the arranged tour but in case you finally plan for individual tour this is the itinerary i would suggest to you. I have planned the same tour after lot of going through with tripadvisor, lonely planet, wiki travel and indiamike. All the hotels i picked were selected after lot of research ![]() =========================== 13th November Evening =========================== Leave from Delhi to Jaisalmer by train Train can be booked directly by http://www.irctc.co.in/ Train Detail : Train number 4059 Leaves from delhi at 05:40 PM and reach Jaisalmer by Noon the following day =========================== 14th November (Jaisalmer) =========================== Reach Jaisalmer by 11 AM-12 Noon Checkin to Hotel Fifu (http://www.hotelfifu.com/) Take rest, have lunch and in the evening go and visit places Overnight stay in Hotel Fifu Tip : Better to call them directly and bargain. They will give a good price if overnight safari is also arranged through them =========================== 15th November (Jaisalmer) =========================== Have breakfast, do some sightseeing and checkout from hotel Visit places and after having lunch leave for Sand Dunes arranged by hotel Fifu Overnight stay in Sand dunes tent in swiss luxury tents =========================== 16th November (Jodhpur) =========================== Early in the morning leave from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur Checkin to hotel Devi Bhawan (http://www.devibhawan.com/aboutus.htm) ---- (My first preference was Hotel Ratan Vilas http://www.ratanvilas.com/ as heard quite a lot about them but unfortunately it was all booked) Take rest, have lunch and in the evening go and visit places Overnight stay in the Hotel Devi Bhawan =========================== 17th November (Jodhpur) =========================== Visit places and explore more Overnight stay in the Hotel Devi Bhawan =========================== 18th November (Udaipur) =========================== Leave from Jodhpur to Udaipur by bus Checkin to Hotel Rangniwas Palace (http://www.rangniwaspalace.com) Have lunch and take rest Explore Udaipur and visit places Overnight stay in Hotel Rangniwas Palace =========================== 19th November (Udaipur) =========================== Visit places and explore more Overnight stay in the Hotel Rangniwas Palace =========================== 20th November (Jaipur) =========================== Leave from Udaipur to Jaipur enroute Chittaurgarh (Chittuargarh is famous for a splendid fort) Checkin to Hotel Umaid Mahal (http://www.umaidmahal.com/) Take rest, have lunch and explore city Overnight stay in Hotel Umaid Mahal =========================== 21st November (Jaipur) =========================== Checkout from hotel Visit places and explore more At night leave from Jaipur to Delhi I could not include [Bikaner, Samode and Mount Abu due to time constraint. You might also want to contact http://www.saviontravel.com/ and they will arrange a trip for you. But i would suggest you to let them tell you the itinerary and you also do some check about the hotel tariffs directly by contacting the hotels as i noticed they quoted Rs 500 more for a hotel they suggested me. Do not hire cab or taxi from them as they quoted high prices. You may hire a cab or taxi once you are at that place and yes do bargain ![]() Hope this helps you Welcome to India Regards |

Hi,
This itinerary seems better. You try out companies like Indian Routes : [url]www.indian-routes.in/, Trans India : [url]www.transindiatravels.com/, Indian Holiday : www.indianholiday.com/ . All the above are reputed names. You can take quotations from them & bargain accordingly. Rgds, Quote:

If you are looking for a pre-arranged tour then you could contact indiaoffbeat.com / indianholiday.com.
I have dealt with both companies personaly and found them real good. |
