I hear there is a dance show at bagore ki haveli, is it every evening? what time does it start, can one just show up or does one need to buy tickets in advance? price?

I'm just curious -- are you also using a guidebook? I've seen answers to several of your questions in the Lonely Planet guide for India.

I believe the show starts about 7 or 7:30 every night. You will want to double check on this. You can go to bagore ki haveli and buy your ticket at the time of the show, I don't think you need to buy in advance and I think the tickets are around 50-60 rupees.

If you want to take a boat trip to Jagmandir, you can buy a ticket at the City Palace complex entrance. There's multiple prices depending on if you are buying a ticket to tour the City Palace too. I'm sure there are other locations to hop on a boat for a ride around the lake, I just didn't check them out on my last visit.

as far as I know the Sound&Light Show is only in Hindi from March till September.
Tickets can be booked directly before the show, although in peak times it might be advisable to book beforehand.
As far was I know the show starts at 7pm.
