Pushkar camel fair Oct/Nov 2009

Hi all, I'll be in Varanasi till 28th or so and want to be in Pushkar by the 30th. So what are my travel options? Here's what I have in mind:

Train: Varanasi to New Delhi and then Bus to Jaipur/Pushkar

Is that about right, or do you have any suggestions?

And will I be able to get a cheap place to stay (Rs. 200-500) if I reach on the 30th?
