please advise 11 day itinerary in Rajasthan July

Hey all

How does this sound? (I know July is hot but that's when we can go... done it before)

day 1 Delhi-Jaipur train no 2015 arrives 10.45

days 2- Jaipur

day 3 Jaipur to Ajmer train 2015 and on to Pushkar arrives 12.00

days4-5 Pushkar

day 6 Pushkar to Udaipur train 2965 arrives 06.10

day 7-8 Udaipur

Day 9 Udaipur to Agra train 2916 arrives 10.52

Day 10 Agra

Day 11 any train back to Delhi

I prefer to see less places and get into them rather than to dash madly from A to B in the heat!

thanks

Yes ... sounds fine. It will be very hot! I spent 5 weeks in Rajasthan this July and August. It was much too long for just Rajasthan but I was so tired that I didn't have the energy to up and travel north. Just as well really as I ended my trip in Udaipur. It was so good for the soul that I spent a week there. A reward for all the hard times earlier on. Enjoy!

I dont think u wuld require more than a day to cover Ajmer and Pushkar. Since u wuld rather visit few places and get a feel of it, I wuld rather suggest -->

day 1 Delhi-Jaipur train no 2015 arrives 10.45

days 2- Jaipur

day 3 Jaipur to Ajmer train 2015 and on to Pushkar arrives 12.00

day 4 Ajmer & Pushkar

day 5 Khuri (Make sure u can stay at Badal Singh's house...check the Rajasthan thread and u will find info on him incl his contact no) its a pleasure to spend a day in a typical rajasthani village. he will also take u to dunes not often visited by the rest of the crowd.

day 6 Pushkar to Udaipur train 2965 arrives 06.10

day 7 Udaipur - see only the City Palace and the Boat Ride to Jagmandir. DO NOT GO FOR THE PACKAGE TOUR...IT SUCKS!!! Post that make sure u reach Dudh Talai by 5 and then take the ropeway to karni mata temple. The sunset from here is the most beautiful thing. Once Udaipur lits up...u wont find urself staring at Udaipur or India for that matter. A must for all photo buffs.

day 8 - go to Sajjangarh and then Shilpgram. Both these places are a MUST SEE IN UDAIPUR. make sure u r loaded in Shilpgram coz theres a lot to buy made by award winning and record estblishing craftsmen from across the country and dat too at amazing rates.

between all this u can do the Manek Mahel and/or Moti Magri Light and Sound show. if u r down wid ur girlfriend or wife make sure to go to ambrai. awesome place to hav food (costs a little but still worth it)

Day 9 Udaipur to Agra train 2916 arrives 10.52

Day 10 Agra

Day 11 any train back to Delhi

so thats it. hav fun.

Udaipur ....Sorry but I have to disagree about Shilpgram. I thought it was even worse than I anticipated. Totally contrived and really, really poor quality things for sale. I was sorry I wasted my time going there. There were only 2 other people visiting it whilst I was there. Nobody bought a thing.

Udaipur - In the evening in the haveli down by the water beyond Lal Ghat they have some music and dancing. It was on every evening was absolutely charming. I wished I had had the opportunity to see more during my holiday.

Glad to hear you're aware that it's going to be hot!

On the plus side it will be quieter.
