Planning a short trip to Udaipur

Hi,

This is the first post of mine here in this forum so please bear with me.

Just made a plan today to go to Udaipur for 3 days and booked train ticket today. I will be travelling with my family (with 2 kids). I will be reaching Udaipur on Sunday morning and will start my return journey on Tuesday evening.

I have booked Mewar Haveli for couple of nights after reading the review on internet. I hope the information I have read is true and will have good experience.

I have read a lot on this site today , but I would like to take your help in what all places I should cover in 2.5 days I have. I dont want to run around too much and want a relaxed trip.

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Go through my trip report Mt. Abu – Udaipur trip report. Apart from the places mentioned in my trip report, you can also see Bagore ki Haveli and Sajjangarh which is missed out.
Kedar Janani Devasthan, Mt Abu - Udaipur, Bharatpur, Agra, Gwalior, Orchha, Jhansi

With children you should mot miss the Sahelion Ki Bari, a park with a lot of fountains and an nature exhibition for children.
Also Shilipgram is interesting.
Of course there is the City palace. Ranakpur and Kumbalgarh can be visited as a daytrip.

For more details see the March part Mumbai - Delhi journal in my signature.

We enjoyed the sunset cruise on the lake.
The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.

My plan

Here is the plan I have made so far:

Day 1 - Udaipur City(City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Saheliyon - ki - Bari ...)

Day 2 - Around Udaipur (Book a cab and cover Jaisamand Lake, Ranakapur)

Day 3 - Udaipur City (Lok Kala Mandal,Sajjan Garh.)

Please advise if all these can be covered as mentioned.

Day 1-OK
Day 2-Jaisamand and Ranakpur are in different directions. You may plan for either jaisamand or Ranakpur/Kumbhalgarh.My vote goes to Ranakpur/Khumbhalgarh.
Day 3-Ok.
You may plan your local sightseeing in udaipur as one evening at sajjangarh and another evening Boating in Pichola Lake.
One morning at Fatehsagar lake may be planned.

You would be reaching Udaipur by around 8:00 in the morning if you are taking the train from Delhi. It will around 30 minutes for you to reach the hotel. Let's say you leave for sight seeing at 10:00 am. You can easily do City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Moti Magri, Saheliyon Ki Bari, Bagore Ki Haveli and Doodh Talai on Day 1. Do not miss the sunset from the top of the hill.

Cover Kumbhalgarh, Ranakpur and Haldighati on Day 2.

Day 3 cover Sajjangarh, Ahar museum and cenotaphs, Lunch at Garden Hotel (also look at their vintage car collection) and Gulab Bagh.
