Need help with my trip
Hello everyone! I having one heck of a time with planning this trip. I have heard some great things about this trip and thought I would ask some imers for help. I am very frustrated trying to get things done, but lack of inormation/resources get in the way.
I am going to be in India towards the end of january. I would like to visit Jaipur, uaipur, jaiselmer and ranthambore national park. In Jaipur and udaipur I would probably do the typical stuff that most people do. In Jaiselmer, I really really really want to see the sand dunes and do may be an overnight camel safari. The g/f wants to go to ranthambore national park and do a tiger safari. First I am looking at which mode of transportation to pick. Flying vs trains vs road. I am leaning more towards road just so that I we don't have to drag our stuff everywhere. Ideally I would like to get a car and a driver for the entire trip and hotel arrangements all taken care of before even leaving delhi. I would like to start and end in delhi. Any ideas where on the internet I can find prices/information? I wanna get an opinion of someone who has already done some of all of these things and can give me some info on the best way to plan this trip. Thanks in advance. |

The places you intend to visit are very popular destinations & very well connected.
Rajasthan tourism runs Volvo buses between Delhi & Jaipur daily. it is quite convinient. There are plenty of info here please do a search. Steven_Ber has posted a fantastic railway route planer thread. Check out train connections there. About hiring a car there are quite a few recomendations please search. Search the Hotel forum for info & recomendations. Good luck. |

We have done a similar route by hiring a car and driver. We have 5 children so it worked out more economically and quicker to do it this way.Rathambhore wasa worthy of a visit but no such luck sighting a tiger. It was extremely dry in Dec when we were there so I do hope good rain has fallen that way.Happy travels.
