Need advice for Jaipur - Pushkar - Udaipur - Jaisalmer
Hi all!
This January I'll be traveling solo in India and surely need some recomendations. I'm trying to find out a travel plan and I would really apreciate some advices for theses cities (Jaipur - Pushkar - Udaipur - Jaisalmer). 1) First of all, if you had limited time (8 days) which one would you choose? Of course I can't do all of them in this period..but it's getting difficult to decide. 2) How long is necessary to know the main parts of each city? 3) Any suggestion of itinerary and things that can't miss? I will have this limited time and will be coming from agra. I was thinking of getting a train from there to Jaipur and stay there 2 or 3 days. Then get the way to Jaisalmer (is there a train directly from Jaipur?). Then I'll have to get back to Delhi (probably getting a flight due the short time) Greetings, Henrique |

Jaipur for the magestic forts and palaces and Jaisalmer for the desert experience. Good choice, I think.
Have a nice time. |

Well, like many (but far from all) I'd recommend Jodhpur over Jaipur. Jaisalmer is a little out of the way so I'm not sure about a short trip. If you plan on a safari which many folks seem to do it might get cramped. There are other places to see in the region.
Udaipur likewise seems a little involved to get to. Could be doable. I think the train to Jaisalmer would run from Jaipur alright. Would have to look it up which you can do yourself using this site's "trains" section. It's your first time right? I think I'd do something like Bundi-Jodhpur (or vice versa, whichever works out better), would give you an idea of a bigger and a smaller place. Bundi isn't all that reachable but it's doable and worth it. There are many other such places no doubt. Or do Pushkar as you planned, very touristed but it's OK really.
