Monsoon in rajasthan June/July 2012

Could anyone update me on the current status of the monsoon in Udaipur. I am planning to got to Lake Pichola at the end of June/Early July 2012.

Will the lake be dry if the monsoon has not arrived in time?

Generally Monsoon arrive in South Rajasthan in June end. The lakes would not be completely dry but June/July is not the best time to go.

Does anyone know how things ended up with the monsoon? I have heard that the monsoon started off very dry, but has come good with quite a lot of recent rain.

I am planning on visiting Udaipur in February to stay at the Lake Palace... however, if it is likely to be dry I will probably choose another time. Of course, I know that Udaipur will be lovely whether the lake is dry or not, just I would rather only stay at Lake Palace when it is actually a Lake

The rains in Rajasthan had picked up significantly in August and continued through September. Jaipur had floods. Some districts have been declared drought affected though. Someone from Udaipur can confirm on the situation in the Lake but this article tells me that Fateh Sagar was very close to overflow mark: http://www.udaipurtimes.com/rain-whi...ding-collapse/. You may want to look at that site periodically before taking a decision as it covers news from Udaipur.
