Lalghat Guesthouse in Udaipur

Location Jagdish Temple area, Udaipur

Phone 525301

Rates about 200-400 R's

Amenities Some rooms with use of common shower, more expensive rooms have attached shower and toilet. There is also a kitchen for the use of guests where you can make breakfast, snacks, hot drinks etc. It's an old stone building with a new annexe built on the lakeside. Great views from the rooftops of the City Palace and lake. Also has a shady courtyard with a long table- good for getting to know other guests.

Likes/Dislikes The whole place is kept spotlessly clean. Can't think of any dislikes

I agree with Alan,
Lalghat Guest House is one of the nicest places that I have stayed.

I have also posted up a printable map of the area if anyone needs directions on how to find it.

Thumbs up Lalghat Guesthouse in Udaipur

Sure it's listed in the Lonely Planet but after 4 months of cheap hotels in the south, this is the nicest place I've stayed in India yet!

Large courtyard, big communal sitting/eating table in middle, comfy bed, crisp white sheets, spotless-clean bathroom with marble floors (and hot water, wow luxury!), and even a little swimming pool on the rooftop. The owner/family was very friendly, they have Internet access too and a great little store with many hard-to-find items including imported chocolate bars (I am a chocoholic). They cook some food but only simple breakfast stuff.

75 Rupees a night for a single/shared bath. I think it's 100 -/ Rs for a double.

updated contact information Lalghat guesthouse?

Does anyone have better contact information for this guesthouse? It gets excellent review in hotel section but all I have is the phone number from earlier in this thread and it has not worked for me.

Phone 525301

I have been using country code of 91 and city code of 294 before that.

Can someone confirm phone number or better yet an email address?

Thanks, Edward

Thanks for the link and information. I wasn't able to find that one through Google - forum wins again.

I'm new here and thought it would be helpful to add a post to the hotel review area for this guest house, but I do not have permission to do so. If someone does, it would be helpful to consolidate the information in one place. THe review area does NOT even have phone number for the guest house let alone the email address.
