Jodhpur has a nice palace to visit, and a wonderful fort! And I really loved the city; stayed there for 3 or 4 days, and found it got friendlier after two days.

They are used to travellers coming to stay only one day and then leaving, so if they see you two or three times, the people in the bazaar are very friendly. And the tailors are very inexpensive!

Mandore gardens, Umaid Bhawan Palace museum, are also interesting. A Bishnoi village 'safari' can be quite interesting too - you get to see dhurrie weaving on the spot and have a lunch of real village food. It is a totally different type of safari to what you will experience by camel in Jaisalmer.
