What can I do in Jodhpur? What are the main things to see?

The fort is really impressive. The town itself has an interesting market, with an amazingly good lassi place just by the clock tower. The ex Maharajah's palace, on the outskirts, was built in the 20s to provide work during a drought, and is full of Art Deco stuff. it is now a really expensive hotel, but it ahs a little museum you can go around and you can also see some of the public rooms. Nearby are the lands of the Bishnoi peoples, who practice a form of land and animal conservation. You can take jeep trips to visit villages and have lunch with a family - not hard sell stuff, although there are carpets to buy if you wish (nice but expensive!) all together definately worth a few days!

Slotek, you are giving the moderators extra work by starting so many threads and putting them all in "Yak-Yak.

Also, do a search first, and you will find a lot of stuff about Jodhpur already, so you can narrow down your question.
