jodhpur or bikaner?

Logistical question - My husband and I will be going from Udaipur to Jodhpur to Jaisalmer - all via a car.
The question then becomes what is the quickest and most convenient way to get from Jaisalmer back to Jaipur?

Initially we were thinking to overnight in Bikaner. But in doing some research it looks like Jodhpur to Jaipur is a shorter ride than Bikaner to Jaipur. Is this true?

If so, we wouldn't mind spending another night in Jodhpur as it will be the night of Nov. 1 - Diwali - and I'm assuming Diwali would be more fun to spend in Jodhpur than Bikaner. Any thoughts on that?

If you agree that Jodhpur to Jaipur is shorter - how long is it via car? Is train shorter? If so, what are the train times for the trip? Thanks!

There aren't any trains between Jaisalmer and Bikaner, but the train between Jaisalmer and Jodhpur is about 7 hours.
I'm pretty sure it is faster by car to go Jaisalmer-Jodhpur-Jaipur, Jodhpur's on the way anyway really whereas Bikaner's a fair way out of the way.
