Jaisalmer to Pushkar- whats the best way to travel?

Hello Folks,

My partner and I have decided to visit Pushkar and our trip is all glee fully sorted, so we will be departing Jalesemar and now adding on Pushkar.

Can anyone suggest the best way to travel between these two places? We are open to travel by car/driver hire, plane and train. Does anyone know the distances/time invloved?

There is an overnight bus but I wouldn't recommend it - not very comfortable.

One more comfortable solution is to take the train to Jodhpur - there is one overnight which arrives very early in the morning around 5.30 a.m. or so and then take a private bus from Bombay Motors bus stand. The bus journey is around 4 hours. You could break this up even further if you wanted by staying the night in Jodhpur, then going on the next day.

A car from Jaisalmer would be costing something in the vicinity of 4000 rupees.

Hello Aishah,

Thank you for responding to my first thread, 4000 rupees is manageable; do you know the time such a drive might take?

We will have already stayed in Jodphur and rather than change everything I am adding Pushkar because I have heard it is irresistible..... from the delightful Indian nurses I work with.
