Jaisalmer-Bikaner rail link

There's a brand new railway line between Phalodi and Kolayat (in Rajasthan), presumably to provide a direct rail link between Jaisalmer and Bikaner. Does anyone have any information about when this line will be open to passenger traffic? When I was in the area in December my guide said it was due to open in early January, but that appears not to be the case...

I've not read anything about when the line will open, but it will be as soon as they can because of it's military potential.

There is a rail budget in about 2 weeks, I expect there will be more news of the line in the budget.

For others, the Bikaner-Jaisalmer line is now open there are overnight trains (Bikaner-Jaisalmer-Bikaner) and there are daytime trains between Lalgarh Jn-Jaisalmer-Lalgarh Jn (Lalgarh is 2km from Bikaner station), the Bikaner-Jaisalmer journey time is about 6 hours.
