Jaipur/Uidaipur..Best way to get there?

Hi,
Can anyone suggest what the best way is to get from Jaipur to Udaipur? I see it's about 405km..A total of 4 are traveling and I thought about taking a taxi/limo...

Thank you in advance,
David

If you like you can take an overnight train:
Train No 2965 JP UDZ SUP EXPRESS leaves Jaipur at 22:25 and reaches Udaipur at 07:45. Journey time - 9 hrs,20 min. (525km).

Otherwise, hiring a car and driver is a good option.

The nice thing of 4-lane roads in india is that they are used by all the things that use single roads. Camels carts, autorikshaws, cows, dogs, trucks, people, cycle rikshaws etc etc etc.. 8 hours is a better guess than six....

I agree with Indus, it takes about 5-6 hrs these days. Nowadays ppl do consider Delhi-Udaipur by road as it can be conviniently done in about 9 hrs. Quite long strecthes of this highway have fences to keep out cattle . And there are good side roads for slow moving vehicles.
