Jaipur or Jodhpur

Fellow IMers, I've just been criticized by a friend of mine for planning to stay 2-3 nights in Jaipur and only one night in Jodhpur. Apparently, contrary to my impressions (after reading some guides), Jodhpur is supposed to be much better than Jaipur. Is that really so?

Both have a lot going for them. Many will say that Jaipur has more sights and more to do than Jodhpur but I preferred the look and feel of Jodhpur. Jodhpur can be used as a base for a day trip to Osian too.

My impression was that Jaipur and surroundings have more to offer if you are into sightseeing, so I decided to spend more time there. And since I'm on a fairly tight schedule...

Not really. Both are good. Perhaps you can divide your time equally between Jodhpur and Jaipur.
