Hotel recommendations for Jaisalmer and Jodhpur
Hi,
Can anyone suggest some good mid-range hotels in Jaisalmer and Jodhpur. We are travelling here for the first time in December (19th to 23rd). In Jaisalmer, we wish to do an overnight camel safari. Is it possible to have this arranged with our hotel booking? Also how far in advance should we book hotels? We've heard that December can be a very busy time. Should we book hotels now? Thanks for the assistance. |

In Jodhpur, I stayed at the Umed Club which was affliated to my club in Bombay. It was very reasonably priced. It also had the only completely slanted tennis court I've ever seen and the waiter at the restaurant gave me a look which said, "Are you f%cking insane?" when I asked him for boneless butter chicken. Besides these two weird instances, the place was good. I think they have a website.

I stayed with Fifu in Jaisalmer. You can check my review here:

If you want to stay on the dunes overnight, Fifu has excellent western tents. I'd call or write them an email in advance. They'll pick you up from the train which you might appreciate.
